%X Die Studie untersucht die Beschäftigungseffekte von Umweltinnovationen auf Unternehmensebene. Es gibt schon viele Studien, die die Auswirkungen allgemeiner Innovationen prüfen. Dagegen sind sie für den Umweltsektor rar. Vor dem Hintergrund der starken politischen Aufmerksamkeit, die den Beschäftigungsaussichten in diesem Sektor entgegengebracht wird, scheint eine getrennte Analyse für die Umweltschutzindustrie im Vergleich zu anderen Wirtschaftszweigen bedeutsam. Die empirische Untersuchung basiert auf dem IAB-Betriebspanel. Die ökonometrischen Ergebnisse belegen, dass Umweltinnovationen einen signifikanten Einfluss auf die Beschäftigung haben. In einem bivariaten Probitmodell werden zudem die Determinanten von Umweltinnovationen untersucht. Diese werden als indirekte Einflussfaktoren auf die Beschäftigungsentwicklung in einem Unternehmen interpretiert. Als entscheidend für die Entwicklung neuer Produkte im Umweltsektor erweisen sich die Verbesserung der Innovationsfähigkeit im Bereich Forschung und Entwicklung, Weiterbildungsmaßnahmen und eine hochqualifizierte Belegschaft. %X "The paper explores employment effects of environmental product innovations at the firm level. Whereas there are many studies analysing this relationship for general innovations, studies for the environmental sector are still rare. On the background of high political attention connected with hopeful employment perspectives, a separate analysis of this sector in comparison to other, non-environmental fields seems to be very important. The empirical analysis is based on the establishment panel of the Institute for Employment Research (Nuremberg). The econometric results show that the influence of environmental innovation activities on the employment development is significantly positive and the quantitative impact seems to be larger than in other, non-environmental fields. Within a bivariate probit model, the determinants of environmental innovation activities are also explored. They may be interpreted as indirect influences on the employment development of the firm. The results show that the improvement of the innovative capacities by R&D and further education measures and the existence of highly qualified human capital are significantly important for the development of new products in the environmental sector." Darüber hinaus werden organisationale Strategien identifiziert, die einen signifikanten Beitrag zum Umgang mit den sozio-ökonomischen Dilemmata und damit zu einem nachhaltig innovations- und wettbewerbsfähigen Unternehmen leisten. %X "Within the framework of the Research and Development program 'Working, Learning, Developing Skills. Innovative ability in a modern Working Environment' (A-L-K) the Federal Ministry of Education and Research addresses a human-centred perspective towards innovations. In close cooperation with national and international experts, the ZLW/IMA and IfU of the RWTH Aachen carries out the program-related monitoring project 'International Monitoring' (IMO). The program is supposed to find central economic dilemmas that are considered to be major problems within the modern working and innovation processes. %X "The impacts of climate change - and especially the subsequent mitigation and adaptation policies - on labour markets are still largely unknown despite the recent demand for knowledge production and diffusion on this topic and the increasing avalanche of reports and studies from public, private and not-for-profit organisations. The search for alternative models of growth in the midst of the financial crisis has increased interest in the 'green growth paradigm' and what it means for a rich-jobs recovery. This paper discusses some of the impacts of climate change including labour market regulation, the dynamics of green growth at the level of jobs and skills development, and the local implications for mitigation and enabling green growth. Although the paper does not provide all the answers to the green enigma (green jobs will come but how?), it argues that much benefit will come from focusing efforts on skills transformation, tools and initiatives. Die Beiträge zum zweiten Themenschwerpunkt dieses Bandes gehen auf die Weiterentwicklung der didaktischen Zielgrößen beruflicher Bildung ein und stellen entsprechende Vorschläge zur Diskussion.

%X "Diese Zusammenfassung präsentiert die wichtigsten Erkenntnisse der Berichte, die von den Sysdem-Experten des Europäischen Beschäftigungsobservatoriums im Dezember 2009 für 30 europäische Länder vorgelegt wurden. Um zu verstehen, wie die Ökologisierung der Wirtschaft den Qualifizierungsbedarf beeinflusst und grüne Arbeitsplätze die Arbeitsmärkte verändern, ist es erforderlich: 
- die Schaffung grüner Arbeitsplätze zu relativieren und ihre Zahl im Verhältnis zur Gesamtzahl aller geschaffenen Arbeitsplätze zu betrachten; 
- die Vorwärtsverflechtung einer Ökologisierung der Wirtschaftstätigkeit zu erkennen; 
- das Zusammenspiel zwischen Schaffung, Substitution, Verlust und Umgestaltung von Arbeitsplätzen zu berücksichtigen; 
- die oftmals beträchtlichen, durch indirekte und induzierte Beschäftigung verursachten Folgen in Betracht zu ziehen; 
- die sozialen Folgen des Übergangs zu untersuchen; so ist zum Beispiel das Ausmaß unbekannt, in dem die beschäftigungspolitische Wechselbeziehung zwischen den Sektoren zu hochwertigeren Arbeitsplätzen führt, was die soziale Kohäsion und den Übergang zu einer nachhaltigen und umweltfreundlichen Wirtschaft bedroht. %X "The challenge is immense, because the ongoing revolutions in both the labour market and family structure that are creating fantastic new opportunities are also posing novel social risks and needs. Changing technologies, accelerating global integration, and the upgrading of human capital are essential to ensuring competitiveness. The labour market will be dominated by service occupations, and this means a general bias in favour of professional and technical skills. In response to the new needs of families, however, there will also be an expansion of low-level (and possibly low-paid) personal and social services. The availability of such service jobs offers the only realistic means of achieving full employment. Thus, the emerging economy will be knowledge- intensive in many, but not all, respects."
